The Legal Stuff - our Terms and Conditions





In these Terms and Conditions the following expressions shall have the following meanings:


Client” means the person requesting the Services in a Booking accepted by JustFelines Cat Care Service (“JFCCS”);

Booking” means the booking made by the Client and accepted by JFCCS for the Services to which these Conditions shall apply;

Emergency Contact” means a person or persons selected by the Client as a contact in the event of an emergency;

JFCCS” means JustFelines Cat Care Service;

“the Services” means the provision of home cat feeding and care services and/or cat taxi for the Client. For the avoidance of doubt, the clause headings are for reference only and do not affect the interpretation or construction of this Agreement.




JFCCS agrees to provide the Services and the Customer agrees to accept the Services for each Booking in accordance with these Conditions.


All Bookings accepted by JFCCS shall specify the commencement date, duration, termination dates, price and all other information required for the provision of the Services.


The Client shall ensure adequate access to, from and within their property for JFCCS on the agreed days of the Services.  The Client shall inform JFCCS of any security alarm code or other security measures which are in place at the property.


The Client undertakes to disclose to JFCCS any illness, ailment, injury, medical history and/or medication required by the pet(s) prior to the commencement of the Services.


The Client authorises JFCCS to administer any necessary medication or first aid to the pet(s) during the provision of the Services, and the Client shall ensure that all required medication is provided to JFCCS prior to the Services Commencing.




The Client accepts that JFCCS accepts no liability for any injury, disappearance or death of any cat(s) and accepts that the use of a cat flap increases the risk of accident or injury to a cat’s safety.


The Client must provide all items necessary for the pet(s) to be cared for in the Client’s absence i.e. food, medication, cat litter etc.





The Client must notify the person(s) or business expecting the animal e.g. groomer, veterinary surgery etc., that JFCCS will be attending the appointment on their behalf and ensure that payment (if necessary) has been made either with JFCCS or direct with the person(s) or business.


The Client understands that JFCCS will not make decisions on veterinary care or grooming style etc., and cannot be held responsible when the pet is not in JFCCS’ care.




All data regarding Clients or prospective Clients is treated as strictly confidential and will not be made available to any third parties.


All keys, when not in use, will be kept in a lockable wall mounted safe.  Keys will not be marked with any Client details but will be identified by a unique number.


Any Client details will be kept in a secure filing cabinet and any Client no longer wishing to use our Services will have their details destroyed.


JFCCS will not be held responsible for any vandalism or break-in to the Client’s property during the use of our Services. In the event of such an occurrence JFCCS will inform your Emergency Contact and report the incident to the Police.


We will not open any windows during our visits, and in the event that we discover an open window which clearly poses a security risk, we will close it. You must ensure that all windows are locked and secure before you leave your property.


Lights – we will, upon your instruction, turn lights on and off as required.


Curtains – we will, upon your request, open and close curtains as required.




A payment of 25% deposit is payable during the preliminary consultation visit, with the remainder being payable upon collection of the keys before the Booking commences.  If key collection occurs at the initial consultation then the full Booking fee shall be payable. Payment can be made by cash or cheque.


Where payment is not received in accordance with these Terms and Conditions JFCCS reserves the right not to proceed with any previously agreed booking. In the event of late return, additional fees will be charged at the same rate as the original agreement.


The Client must contact JFCCS upon their return home. JFCCS will continue to visit the property and care for your pet(s) until the Client has confirmed that the pet(s) are now back in their care. Clients will be charged at the full daily rate for additional visit whether necessary or not.




JFCCS is covered by Public Liability insurance provided by Simply Business.  A copy of our insurance cover is available upon request.


It is agreed that it is the Client’s responsibility to ensure that the property and the cat(s) are adequately insured throughout the duration of the assignment as we will not accept any liability for any damage made to your property by your pet(s).


JFCCS will care for your pet(s) to the best of our ability, and whilst we will make every effort to ensure that your pet(s) are well looked after in your absence, we cannot be held liable for any loss, injury of death of a pet, either inside or outside of the home, whilst in our care.




Emergency Contact


The Client must provide us with the name and contact number of someone capable of making s decision regarding the pet(s) in an emergency. If the contact is not available JFCCS reserves the right to consult with your registered veterinary surgeon and then make a decision which is in the best interests of the cat(s). In the event that JFCCS is unable to contact your registered veterinary surgeon, or not being provided with any contact details, then the matter will be referred to Boness Veterinary Hospital in Barton-le-Clay.


The Client is responsible for all veterinary bills, no matter how they are incurred, whilst the cat(s) are in the care of JFCCS, and the Client should advise their veterinary surgery that JFCCS will be the appointed carers during your absence.


Loss or Damage


Neither party shall be liable for direct or indirect or consequential losses of the other including but not limited to, loss of profit, loss of anticipated profit, loss of revenue, loss of business (whether or not due to negligence of either party) arising from or relating to the Servicers and whether or not such losses were foreseeable at the time of entering into the Booking.




JFCCS’s sole liability shall be for direct loss or damage incurred by the Client or the death or injury of any person directly attributable to the negligence of JFCCS in its performance of its obligations under this Agreement, such liability shall be limited to £10,000 in the aggregate.


The Client shall indemnify and hold harmless JFCCS against any claim, loss, damage, cost, expense (including legal fees) demand or proceedings whatsoever incurred or brought in respect of any damage or injury caused by the Client’s cat(s).


Data Protection


JFCCS and Client will comply with all applicable requirements of the Data Protection Legislation and. For the purposes of this Legislation the Client is the data controller and JFCCS is the data processor.


The Client will ensure that it has all necessary appropriate consents and notices in place to enable lawful transfer of the Personal Data as defined in Data Protection Legislation to JFCCS for the duration and purposes of this agreement.


The JFCCS shall, in relation to any Personal Data processed in connection with the performance of its obligations under this agreement:

(a)          process Personal Data only on the written instructions of the Client unless the Supplier is required by Applicable Laws to otherwise process that Personal Data.

(b)          ensure that it has in place appropriate measures to protect against unauthorised or unlawful processing of Personal Data and against accidental loss Personal Data.

(c)           ensure that all personnel who have access to and/or process Personal Data are obliged to keep the Personal Data confidential; and

(d)          notify the Client without undue delay on becoming aware of a Personal Data breach;.

(e)          at the written direction of the Client, delete or return Personal Data and copies thereof to the Client on termination of the agreement unless required by Applicable Law to store the Personal Data; and.

(f)           maintain complete and accurate records and information to demonstrate its compliance with this clause.


Force Majeure


JFCCS shall not be liable for any failure to perform the whole or any part of this Agreement arising from or attributable to acts, events, omissions or accidents beyond its reasonable control including but not limited to Acts of God, terrorism, adverse weather conditions, accidents or illness etc. If already paid, the Client shall be entitled to a full refund of fees for the period for which the Services are not rendered.




If any provision of this Agreement (or part of any provision) is found by any court or other authority of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, that provision or part-provision shall, to the extent required, be deemed not to form part of this Agreement, and the validity and enforceability of the other provisions of this Agreement shall not be affected.


Termination and cancellation


Subject to cancellation as specified above, either party may terminate the contract by giving the other not less than five (5) days notice, prior to the commencement date, without liability.


Cancellation fees of 50% of the total fees will be charged on all bookings cancelled up to 48 hours prior to the day of commencement of the contracted Services.


Cancellation fees of 25% of the total fee will be charged and payable on all bookings cancelled between 48 and 72 hours prior to the day of commencement of the Services.


Delayed return


In the event that the Client is delayed in returning home for any reason they must inform JFCCS immediately in order to confirm continuance of the Service.  In the unlikely event that this is not possible JFCCS shall contact your specified Emergency Contact.


Return of Keys


The Client must confirm their return home to JFCCS and until JFCCS receives such confirmation, the Client’s keys shall remain in the possession of JFCCS.
